Adding Contacts to GetroConnect


GetroConnect allows you to organize your network and share your contacts with people who frequently ask for your interests. Here's how you can add contacts to GetroConnect:

Option 1: Add a Single Contact

To add a single contact to GetroConnect, follow these steps:


  1. Click on the "Add Contact" button located in the top navigation menu.

  2. Select the “Single Contact” option

  3. Enter the contact's LinkedIn URL.

  4. Click “Add Contact” to add the contact to your network

  5. Optionally add Email, Contact of, Lists, or Tags and click Update Info.

Option 2: Add Contacts from a CSV File

To add contacts from a CSV file, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the "Add Contact" button located in the top navigation menu.

  2. Click on the "From CSV" option.

  3. Select the CSV file that contains the contacts you want to add. We recommend you use the CSV template linked in this screen which includes LinkedIn (required), Email, Tags, Lists, Resume URL, and Website. (Note: To add multiple tags or lists, please put them in quotes and separate them with a comma (e.g. "Tag 1, Tag 2, Tag 3"). Please also make sure to use standard LinkedIn profile URL formatting: https://www.linkedin.com/in/username.)

  4. Click 'Preview Contacts'

  5. Map your file by assigning each CSV column to a field and selecting your preferred Merge Method. The 2 Merge Methods available are: Overwrite Existing Data and Skip Field* or you can choose 'Do Not Import' for specific fields. (Note: At this time, you are unable to add new data while maintaining data of existing tags (i.e. add additional tags to a contact that already has tags). To accomplish this, please export your existing contact information and add it to the CSV you'd like to upload so that your CSV has complete information.)

  6. Click on the "Add Contacts" button to add the contacts to your network.

  7. You will receive an email with a CSV Import success message detailing the number of contacts successfully imported. (Note: Errors that may occur upon import: incorrectly formatted LinkedIn URLs, incorrect formatting for Tags and Lists.)


Option 3: Sync Your LinkedIn Contacts

When you set up LinkedIn Sync, any new LinkedIn connections you make will be automatically added to your Getro contacts. 

  1. Click on the "Connect LinkedIn" button located in the top navigation menu.

  2. Install the GetroConnect Chrome extension (if you don’t already have it)

  3. Click 'Connect LinkedIn Account'

  4. Leave this tab open while we identify your LinkedIn connections (no more than 10 min)

Option 4: Use the Chrome Extension to Add single Contacts directly from LinkedIn

To use the Chrome extension to add contacts from LinkedIn, follow these steps:

  1. Install the GetroConnect Chrome extension.

  2. Go to your LinkedIn account and find the contact you want to add to GetroConnect.

  3. Click on the "Add to Getro" button located next to the contact's name.

  4. Manage the Contacts information (lists, contact of, tags, notes) directly from LinkedIn.
