Inviting Allies to Your Getro Network

Allies in Getro make it easy to expand your network’s reach by securely sharing their contacts—without giving them full access to your platform.

This guide covers:

  1. What an Ally is

  2. How to invite an Ally

  3. What the Ally invitation process looks like

What is an Ally?

An Ally is someone who can share their contacts with your Getro network but does not have access to other features in the platform.

  • They cannot manage contacts, create or send lists, or log in to manage network activity.

  • They are typically partners, advisors, or individuals whose contacts would be valuable for making introductions—but who will not be actively using Getro day-to-day.

  • Allies simply connect their LinkedIn to share their contacts, and that’s it.

How to Invite an Ally

  1. In your Getro instance, go to Settings → Team Members.

  2. Click Invite Member.

  3. Choose Ally from the invitation type options (you can also invite Network Admins here).

  4. Enter their name and email address.

  5. Click Send Invite.

Your Ally will receive an email invitation to join your network.

What Allies See When Invited

1. Email Invitation

  • The Ally receives an email titled: “You’ve been invited to Getro.”

  • They click Get Started from the email.

2. Create Password & Accept Terms

  • Set a password.

  • Agree to the Terms of Service.

3. 3-Step Setup Guide

The onboarding flow shows:

  1. Connect LinkedIn

  2. Help with meaningful introductions

  3. Make an introduction when asked

4. Connecting LinkedIn

  • They are prompted to install the Getro Chrome Extension.

  • Click Add to Chrome → Add Extension to install.

5. Confirming Contact Sharing

  • The extension confirms they are sharing contacts with your network (e.g., “Getro Sales Network”).

  • If they are part of multiple networks, they can choose which networks to share contacts with.

After Setup

Once an Ally connects their LinkedIn via the extension:

  • Your network can see and use their contacts to create introduction lists.

  • The Ally does not need to take any further action unless they wish to stop sharing.

Tip: Inviting Allies is a quick way to grow your network’s reach without adding more active users.
